‘The Mastermind Jinda Sukha’, A Punjabi film was to be released on September 11, has been banned in India.
The film, which is taking into account lives of the professional killers of previous Army General Arun Kumar Vaidya, was previously cleared from the Censor Board on July 24, but has now been banned after the union Home Ministry and Intelligence Bureau (IB) raised objections.
While addressing a News Paper, chief of the motion picture, Sukhjinder Singh, said, “The counselling council of the Censor Board called us on Tuesday for a meeting in Mumbai. They let us know they had gotten a letter from the home service and IB raising protests to the film’s arrival. They felt the motion picture would hurt the religious conclusions of individuals prompting mob like circumstances. As a preparatory measure the board chose to boycott our film,” included the chief.
The chief made offers of cutting scenes there were protests against. “In spite of the fact that we offered to cut scenes which they had complaints with yet on Wednesday they denied this too. There has been no protest brought by the barricade in releasing the film abroad – so we would be releasing it abroad on the booked date,” he states.
Discussing the disputable substance, “If the film had controversial content the censor board would have never given it a clearance on the first go, in fact, the film would have taken the audience back to the 1980’s when Harjinder Singh Jinda and Sukhdev Singh Sukha got capital punishment for assassinating the former Army General Arun Kumar Vaidya. The film was based on true facts and letters exchanged by both during imprisonment”
The producers feel that the very late declaration has come as an astonishment which would prompt colossal misfortunes for them as crores were put resources into the making and advancement of the film.
