Just a day ago Deepika Padukone featured in a short video spreading the message of voice equality for females in all spheres of life. The video in Deepika Padukone’s voice states,  “It is my choice to live life the way I want, to wear clothes I like, to decide how I want my body to be, when I want to get married or if I ever want to walk down the aisle, to decide if I want to be straight or a lesbian…,”

And now the question arises, which choice? What love? What freedom?

And we came across something, which is really funny and unappreciated. The Central Board Of Film Certification (CBFC) as banned a film ‘Unfreedom’ a thriller directed by debut filmmaker Raj Amit Kumar starring Adil Hussain and Victor Banerjee.

The film explores the topic of homosexuality. The story of the movie is of a young girl who is forced to do an arranged marriage, where the girl wants to spend her life with a lesbian partner.

The film has received the nod by Pahlaj Nihalani, Chairperson of CBFC, having the issues with the nudity and love making scenes in Unfreedom. After banning and deleting cuss word from the movie the censor Board has objected on the scenes. Along with the story of a lesbian relationship, the film also has a parallel story of a liberal Muslim who is kidnapped by a terrorist.

Well, the film passes a true message, “The choice we make, we are the most corned in our life and it defines who we are”. Its truly said we are leaving in the world where the freedom to live your own life in your own way is being snatched away.

The director of the movie is going to make an appeal in the high court after appealed to the Film Certification Apellate Tribunal.
